Not only equine massage and bodywork contribute to the overall wellness of a horse, but many different factors combined make for a happy and healthy horse and a satisfied horse owner.
I have written and compiled articles related to horse wellness from different areas to share with you. We all know the saying ' there are as many opinions as there are "horse people"'. The articles featured on my site represent my particular point of view and are focused on a natural and holistic approach in all things horse maintenance and a rather traditional European point of view in all things training. I am looking at training from the perspective of muscular soundness of the horse and have given a lot of thought to recommendations around gymnasticizing and strengthening your horse from that point of view. The gymnasticizing recommendations on this site mirror methods used in training the German cavalry horse according to the German cavalry guidelines for training horse and rider, which were the basis for today's FN guidelines.
You will also find horse related recommendations for reading which I found especially inspiring or educational. For anyone sincerely interested in furthering the biomechanical soundness of their horse I highly recommend Jim Masterson's DVD about 'Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork' for horse owners (www.mastersonmethod.com) and Dr. Gerd Heuschmann's DVD "If Horses Could Speak" or his book "The Tug of War".
Please feel free to contact me with questions, suggestions or input of any kind.
Thank you!
